What's Up This Month on the New Jersey Coast

Volume 2, Number 4, page 4

New Vinyl Breakdown 2001 (continued from page 3)
'Hard to Beat' Trezz's hammer-slashing ax brings the band's funk-bashing attack home, while the Fuzz/Wawa-torqued Sabbath Meets Lord Sutch-on-Tool onslaught of 'Crawlspace' and the wailing Iggy-fied take on "F66" show off the focus these guys bring from years of headbanging among their various bands past

The new project was produced by Monster Magnet's Phil Caivano and looks to be a major contender in the Stoner-Space Grindrock vein, also plans are afoot for European Indy Release and Tour, and look for Heavy Liquid pouring it on in an opening slot at the next local Monster Magnet show.. Also Taste the Liquid at www.heavyliquidLAMF.com

While in the most intriguing Can't Miss category is the new one from Latshaw, which features for the first time their new lead vocalist, Mike Affinito, formerly of Tru Smoke Diezel..I>E., In the few months he has been in Latshaw, Mike, 28, has written lyrics to 6 of Latshaw's instrumentals, 2 of which guitarist Billy Latshaw finished writing the music a month or so ago. Talk about chemistry on fire! The East Brunswick. based Affinito has added an explosive new dimension to the Helmet meets Metallica machinery of this Best Hard Rock Act of Asbury Music Awards 2000,, and a 'Bury-based Latshaw finished up their third CD in late February. It's now available locally, and on www.Amazon.com

And while we're treading in the realm of the heavy and the heavenly, we're just tripping over a new project from former Blue Oyster Cult keyboardist Tommy Zvoncheck. Also known for tickling the ivories for Johnny Rotten's PiL, plus Dream Syndicate, Clarence Clemons and Aldo Nova, Tommy's First Solo release is focused on his own slamming instrumentals in a Rock-Fusion vein. He wrote all the songs, and addition to playing keyboards he also plays electric, acoustic & bass guitars, with Keith Crane playing drums.on the CD. (continued on page 5)

Eat to the Beat...Downtown Café
(continued from page 2)
Crescent City Maulers and more daringly, English & the 40ozs (check that lead singer out, he's quite a cutie). There is a separate stage upstairs for more of a club scene experience. For a schedule you can check out their website at Downtown Cafe or our daily listings at www.NJCoast.com.

Over all the experience was great with a pleasant waitress and a bill that was only around thirty beans. Not bad for great food served with romantic candle light. Too bad Joe's not my type . . . Check out next months edition of Eat to the Beat featuring The Dublin House.
