Time To Pet That Puppy Again:   

Its earlyon a breezy July Sunday morning, We just got in from Hooligan's where a newly revamped Slushpuppy w/balls-out Grrlrock frontchik Dawn Botti rocked the house and brought the crowd to the edge of hersteria with their new edgier Alterna-pop/punk n' Ska sound; From a whisper to a wail, new guitarist Rich Sanicola dueted w/Botti on angry to sexy rousers like "I feel fine' and 'See More', while lulling the front row in with a sharper, more Ska-pop take on the ballad 'Cryin'.. {Slushpuppy is:Dawn Botti -lead vox, guitar, Gary Szczecina -drums, bck vox, Cory Baker - bass, Rich Sarnicola - guitar)

Anndd. the hotter news is, some months back prior to the band's re-organizing, the all-Jersey based Pup signed on to work with producer extraordinaire John Agnello on a new 4 song deal-shopping demo. John, whose production credits include Dinosaur Jr., Buffalo Tom, JawBox and Walt Mink, has also worked the boards for everyone from Bob Dylan, Patti Smith and The Fixx to Eighties' faves the Hooters and The Outfield, and local legends the Smithereens.

"He was really excited by a rehearsal tape we had given him," the ballsy Botti continues, "He thinks we have some real hits on our hands, and this writer would have to howlingly agree…We just got a copy of said CD demo, and the song 'Everybody Knows" will be a featured track on the forthcoming Indy film "Baby Doll Forever", directed by Vladimir Slavica and written by Daryl Haney; In addition, the band's HTG-rev'd (continued on page 11)
