Folks gather and play to fight leukemia

"For Dear Life: A Benefit for Katie Andryca" will present a great concert and help an even greater cause. All proceeds of the Aug. 12 show will benefit Katie Andryca, a local teen who was diagnosed with Acute Myleognous Leukemia back in 1999.
 
The show features the talent of Barry and the Penetrators, Only On Weekends, Last Picked, The Sideways, The Liquid Dream, Bankston and Forevers End at The Toms River Alternative Skate Park, across from Huddy Park in Toms River. Doors are at 2 p.m.

Katie, while diagnosed on December 27, 1999, went into remission for a while but is now back in the hospital due to a compromised immune system. A bone marrow transplant donor has
