The Other Joe (continued from page 1 )

And the general lack of "sports bar" paraphernalia manages to keep out the local sorts-heads, who inaccurately believe that the place might be a gay bar. Thursday has become a hangout for hardcore songwriters. You're not gonna get famous playing here on Thursdays__it's not about that. You also won't hear anyone play "Sweet Home Alabama." But if you're a musician who plays your own songs then come on down.

The Open Mic is not limited to just musicians, last week Alexander The Poet appeared and read his extremely off colored and politically incorrect nursery rhymes. Armadillo Crossing
Eat to the Beat's

by Rebecca Cavanaugh

Looking for something to spice up your Valentines day? Look no further!! Armadillo's Crossing (a.k.a. Belmar's Best Kept Secret) located on the corner of 16th Ave. and Main Street, is definitely the place to take your sweetie this holiday. Northern Invasion (continued from page 2) at the Birch Hill in Old Bridge on Febraury 23 with Nine Days.  They promise that this will be a BIG SHOW.

Although he is primarily the rhythm guitarist, he did manage to put a cool wah-wah touch on the song "What Do You Want?" His presence, of course, does not get in the way of bassist Walt Lockhart, whose bass lines sets the mood for "Undertow." The lead guitar of Jimmy Farrell brings a hot solo on their opener "Happy" And their drummer Chris O'Hara gives "Don't Start" its undeniable jolt. (continued on page 5)
