Hello everyone... My deepest appologies go out to everyone at The Finals last Saturday afternoon.
It all got a little too crazy a little too quickly. Apparently, the local police authorities thought underage people were consuming alcoholic beverages inside Hooligans - They were not! Also, it is my understanding (as told to me by the police authorities) that it is illegal for minors to be "loitering" outside of a bar. Right or wrong, as of right now - the rescheduled Finals on July 21, 2001 will have to be a 18 and over event - if that changes I will let everyone know. Also - we might unfortunately have to implement a NO REENTRY policy to prevent people from "loitering" outside the bar. I do not want to do this, I have the utmost integrity when putting together the Battle of the Bands and all my shows but I must comply with the law in order to keep on running shows. I try to run all shows from a positive point of view - people working together, bands supporting one another, friends and family welcome, giving back to the bands and their fans etc... We will learn from this an forge on. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.
Again
The Finals for the $2001 Hooligans Battle of the Bands has been rescheduled for July 21, 2001. Anyone who bought a ticket for last Saturdays show - must contact the band they
will have new tickets to replace the old ones.
This event as of right now is an 18 and over show. Anyone who was in the club and did not get to see their band perform (Othersidenine, Shumi, Osiris Rising, The Sideways, Against The Grain, and Sun), must contact the band - they will have new tickets for you. If you were able to see your band (Ill Tempered and Higher Threshold) They will have new tickets for you also, contact them.

Battle of the Bands A performers view
2001 Battle of the Bands Finals for the sessions January 2001 - July 21st, 2001
I
first heard the call for bands for the Battle of the Bands last year while working at the Asbury Park Press.
I took note of the details and contacted Dan Futon, the promoter of the event, to have our band, Osiris Rising, take part.
During my initial conversation with Dan, I got the sense that he was really committed to making the local scene work. He assembled a many local bands to take part in this contest, with the first round consisting of 8 weeks of 8 bands per show, for a total of 64 bands. On the line is $2001 in cash, over 20 hours of studio time, dozens of free t-shirts, and assorted other goods and prizes, which would be a great boost to any band out there.
