Joe's Dribble
Looking for new ways to promote / The Anderson Council
I'm always looking for novel new ways that performers can use to promote themselfs. This story starts back at the end of May, I was at the Stone Pony covering Rummer Mill opening for John Entwistle (see separate story ...), After the show I went out to my car and found that someone had papered my windshield and the windshields of hundreds of other cars with yet another flyer. From the distance it looked like a standard sheet of yellow, letter sized paper that I'd have to carry home and throw away, BUT as I reached for it, I noticed a clear, plastic pouch containing a CD glued to the flyer.

The label on the CD was a plain white background covered with black type..The entire top of the CD was devoted (in extra large type) to announcing the band "The Anderson Council" and (in smaller type), full contact information, (Phone, Web Site, E-Mail...) Plus the title of a few songs on the CD.

The middle and bottom was more interesting. It boldly listed 4 upcoming performances. Each one had a date and time (NOBODY EVER SEEMS TO LIST THE TIME),

We went out to Hooligans for the first round on February 24th and had a really good time. For those who haven't been out to Hooligans, it's a great bar with good music, good food, and every show we've played there has been a positive experience. We managed to do well and placed first for the day, so we moved on to the second round on May 19th. The lineup that day was Osiris Rising, The Sideways, Face First, Twisted Belly, and On the Outside. All of the bands were outstanding and there was a lot of good energy throughout the day.  We wanted to make the experience more entertaining for our fans who come out time and time again, so we ended our set with 'Eye of the Tiger' segueing into one of our original tunes, 'Bitch'.  The crowd reaction was intense, and we were asked to play a double encore,
