Jane Says...(continued from page 7) S.S.: Well, that's definately a factor also. I think that people are just so over-worked, more than ever before. People have
always been over-worked but now everybody's telling them that they're over-worked, so they're believing it and thinking "I have to go home." J.T.: [laughing guiltily,
thinking "oh my God, does he mean me?" Scott can slip a pretty good subliminal in, if necessary...] No! People actually do that?! S.S.: So we're fighting against that perception
and then you're competing against other media - movies are hit over people's heads, so there's that brainwashing going down. It's pumped into people's heads so that's ultimately gonna...they're going to
do that instead of going to a show. J.T.: Yeah, so people are over-hyped is what you're saying... S.S.: Yeah, exactly, there's too much, that's why what it comes down to now is
I can throw so much money out there advertising but it ain't gonna do...the only one that's gonna get people out to the show is the artist telling their friends, them telling theirs friend...come to the
show and that's the basic way its going to happen. J.T.: Is there anything coming up that you're especially excited about? S.S.: um...[he bangs a pretty good drum riff on the bar]...there's
"Joydrop" from Canada, they sold out the last time they were here. J.T.: What are they like? S.S.: Female singer, over the top pop rock. And then Marcy Playground
returns. J.T.: Oh! Really! Augh! [nerdily enthusiastic, trying not to think about sex or candy] S.S.: That show's on June 22nd with two great local bands
opening..."blowup" with John Leidersdorf from "the outcry", and then "Red Enging 9", who are on Gig records. J.T.:
So, what about people's feelings, coming to Albury, do we wanna tell them that they're...silly...it's not really a problem? It's never been a problem for me...(continued on page 11).
