What's Up This Month on the New Jersey Coast

Volume 2, Number 6, page 16

"SHORE WORLD" (continued from page 15)
Reso..And check out opening acts like the Shore Scene's answer to Joe Jackson, Joe Whyte, and dig the female-fronted critically raved hard pop of Blue Scream..And just for "FYI" sake, if you haven't seen 'RN9" in a while, you'll want to check out their revamped Hard Rock to Britpop sound, especially tunes like the CD title 'Elvis' cut..
And as if that weren't enough musical bang for your buck, the First 100 People through the
door this Friday get a Grab-Bag full of FREE CD'S, Stickers and other promo items, courtesy of the Indy Masterminds at Gig! The Doors Open at 8 PM, admission is 18 to Slink, 21 to Drink; For more Info, call Gig Records direct at {732} 701-9044, or The Hooligans' Hotline, 263-1700.

AND GROUND FRESH FROM THE RUMOR MILL...NO SLEEP 'TIL BROOKLYN

Ran into some 'Bury Beastie Boys recently, as we shared the smoking car with 'Azzy New Folky Brian Saint & the multi-talented Jon Sara on the NJT up to Hoboken for one more Saturday night; On their way to a neighborhood jam, Saint told us he was abandoning the Asbury Scene for the near future to move to Brooklyn, and we wished Brian luck in conquering the Big Apple, along w/The Big Sheepshead…Also hear that Sal DiBerardo, lead singer of the original Skybolt Engine has formed a new unit, on the same Pop/R&B track as his old musical flame; the new band is still without a name, but they'll be opening for Otherside 9 at Broadway Central on June 23rd…. ...And ex-bandmate/Buddy Skybolt Jim's been strumming up a new rep doing his own solo material at The Broadway, Hooligan's and The Pony, between commuting to his dayjob in NYC and working shows for World Beyond Network..

Greg Salimeri leaves open mic
(continued from page 15)

A Photo album of the event is posted at - www.NJCoast.com/ICafe/om052000.html - .

Greg describes his departure from the Internet Cafe's open mic as if he were losing a radio station that played special songs you could not hear anywhere else. The performers and their songs have become close friends of Greg and he expects to miss them greatly, especially Bobby S., Billy Chicago, Matt Foreman, John, Duncan Circle, Rick Durango, ... Paul and the waitress staff.

As soon as Greg settles in and feels comfortable with his school workload, he plans to start a new open mic somewhere in the Pittsburgh area. He also plans to cover a number of his favorite tunes that local performers have written and played at the Internet Cafe's open mic, bringing a bit of Red Bank with him to PA.
