What's Up This Month on the New Jersey Coast

Volume 2, Number 3, page 1

A Night at the Saint

Rumour Mill earning that spare change.

The five-piece ensemble of Tom, Jeff, Mike, Bill, and newcomer Carl turned the burners on with their familiar yet refreshingly original pop-tinged rock, reminescent of REM (one of their favorite bands and biggest influences).  Tom told me the band started up 4 years ago as an artistic release; Rumour Mill isn't all about getting "discovered," they just want to express themselves through music and make a little spare change doing it. When asked how they're enjoying the rockstar lifestyle, Rumour Mill said they'd get back to us.

The next act, Falling Out, consisted of three very good-looking young men on guitar/vocals, guitar, and drums (Paul Rose, Chris Spoust, and Pete Maresco, respectively).  Though they've only been together for 4 months (weeks?  days?) their sound is powerful and eclectic, ranging from heavy funk to pounding pop-punk. Falling Out even has their superstar persona down pat
