Court Tavern Open Mike

     One institution that has soldiered on over the past couple of years is the Wednesday Night Open Mike at 

the Court Tavern in New Brunswick. Hosted by Rob Jones of Overlap, this open mike has become an excellent training room for acoustic and electric singer- songwriters, fill-in musicians, and poets of the "Hub" and elsewhere.

The Show Must Go On

     Their normal venue suddenly closed for electrical problems, Dan from Jersey Parties had to scramble fast last weekend to move shows out of their normal home to a temporary setting in Café Bar in Long Branch. Within 24 Hours, I received E-Mails notices from Jersey Shows, Chrisy Santorie Blue Scream (Scheduled for Friday) and Dave Eric (Scheduled for Saturday). Seems that Jersey Coast musicians know how to handle adversity and alert their audience of last minute changes..

   Always curious I wandered down to the old Board Walk in Long Branch to see what (continued on page 3)
