SHOREWORLD
(continued from page 15)
At presstime, Siggy was toying with the idea of adding a second guitarist, but you can confirm all those wild rumors yourself Saturday Dec 10th at The Broadway Central Cafe, w/the punk/jazz ska sound of Bongo Jones. For More Info, call The JACKLINE at [732}914-8462

But don't get too cozy, 'cuz he..eere comes Shiftless, a hard rock/new metal band that recently finished their first CD produced by Anthony Cruzan, former guitarist of the Spin Doctors and producer with an Industry-wide reputation. Formed in Spring, 2001, The Bridgewater based Shiftless .is: Mario, vocals, Matt, drums, Rohan, bass guitar and Dan, lead guitar. Rohan and Dan were friends for 5 years prior to forming the band, and without a lot of hype, it shows.

The first song, "Latch" kicks off with a roaring wall of thundering crunch-metal funk, as an at-first feeling of being grabbed by the throat loosens up, strangely your attention's grabbed primarily by the singer's Adam Sandler does Biohazard thing which comes off as more than mere vocal quirks; the 2nd song 'Bad Day' has gotten some local airplay, with its nuke-level Jurassic-power riffing and GWAR meets Beastie Boys primal urgency, I.e., 'give me my space it's a bad day/give me a feel, let me finish my meal".

The trend continues with "Anger Management", propelled by the same powerful riffing onslaught and displaying an even more toxic sense of humor, as you lurch and nod along to the band's organic aural menagerie of beasty moans, gurgles and groans. All in all, an impressive first project for such a young, fresh-looking bunch of suburbanite dudes, and these guys definitely bear watching. To stay tuned on the Shiftless

his dad spent a major portion of his career involved in advertising. While Dave may have been too young to appreciate popular music's impact back in the 50's when his dad worked for Dick Clark's American Bandstand as a live commercial producer, there's no doubt that Mac's musical appreciation and knowledge is now expanded from far earlier eras touching upon the first blues recordings to up-to-the-minute blues, soul, and rock & roll.   It was as a broadcasting major in college that Mac discovered what a blast it was to turn others on to great music via radio.

Now at the age of 38, home is the Highlands where the Big Apple is just a ferry ride and a great view away, or he can just head south along the ocean and soak in all the fun of the many Jersey shore venues where great music is still alive and kicking.
