    All Ages Show-Internet Cafe

People looking to enjoy a variety of music have found what they were searching for in the Internet Cafe in Red Bank. Open mic, country, Christian, acoustic and - since April - the Internet Cafe has held all ages shows two or three times a month on the weekend. Numerous acts, eager to play, have performed in the cafe over the past couple months and many more are planned.

Grounded ‘Til Tuesday   at  The Internet Cafe

I attended the May 10 show and was pleasantly surprised by the showcase of different artists. The first act up was Joe Whyte, who claims to have written most of his songs on the train and in his room. He took the stage and belted out several original pieces. Joe’s guitar of choice was an acoustic with a powerful sound that matched his voice. His performance was a nice, calm opening to the evening. Continued on 4

Musical Theater Comes to Toms River

Coming to Toms River is another opportunity for community theater.
Painted River Theater Company will present “Downtown Dinner Theater,” through August.
The troupe will perform Wednesday and Thursday nights at Tommy’s Champagne Room, 57 Main Street in Toms River.
Tickets are $28 for each of these performances, which include a buffet dinner.

Two musicals close the season. In late June, the production of “Is There Life after High School?” begins, followed by “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” in August. The two musicals cost $35, and a ticket will again get you a buffet dinner.
“Is There Life After High School?” helps us remember our adolescence and school days with a fondness, however traumatic they may have been. All those scenarios: not being asked to the School Dance, captaining the soccer team, dancing in the gym, being an 'innie' or a cheerleader, being an 'outie' or even worse the 'fatso' nobody wanted to sit next to.

Joe’s Drivel

Well Where do we start. Been a while since our last News Letter. Harry's Roadhouse was just opening up, the BE Gallery was in full swing and the Holiday Express Christmases wrap up article was just squeezed in under the deadline. Just as a side note, It must be Christmases in July, because the Holiday Express, Feed the Hungry Concert at The Stone Pony happens July 6 2003. Tickets at Jack's Music, Ichabod's, McLoone's, The Stone Pony AND MusicToday.com. More info at Holiday Express’s Web Site

The open Mic at Harry's Roadhouse in Asbury is settling into a normal Tuesday event and Murphy's Grill on Rt 516 in Old Bridge has just started an open mic every Monday at 7:30pm. Look for a full article and photos on the Murphy's Grill open mic next month.

While on the subject of open mics. Do you know of an Open Mic along the NJ Coast that we haven't mentioned in a while. Help us refresh our Open Mic Listings. Send us info on ANY OPEN MIC you know about. Where it is, what day, what equipment is provider... to Staff@NJCoast.com

As a self serving promotion, I'm doing work with SeaShoreMusic.com running All Ages shows around the Red Bank Area.
