What’s Up This Month on the New Jersey Coast

Volume 4, Number 2, page5

Late Done Right (cont.)

continued from page 4

The night ended with one last set by Michael Garner. A somewhat “newbie” to entertainment, Michael has been playing open mic nights for two years now. His obvious influences from classic rock, bluegrass, and folk showed through his covers of songs by Neil Young, The Dead, Simon and Garfunkel, and Cosby Stills Nash Young. Although he stuck to covers of other songs, Michael aspires to write and perform his own music one day.
Everyone seemed to have a good time, including the performers and the audience. So my musical and caffeinated night turned out great and if you happen to have a few hours to kill or nothing going on one night you should stop into this cozy
little café. Sunday nights have an open mic night, and if your lucky you might catch one of these three talented musicians there or catch a glimpse of another new and up-coming performer. I hope to see you there.

“New member of the Acoustic Family” Michael Garner

Musical Theater (cont.)
continued from page 2

This wise, poignant and extremely funny musical follows nine people as they remember, reminisce and re-enact some of their High School memories. This celebration, some times sad, often hilarious, tells a story of innocent lives in this unique American institution, High School: the American Crucible, and of an America now seemingly lost and long gone forever.
“Charlie Brown” is based on Charles Schultz's popular comic strip and chronicles the events in a day in the life of Charlie Brown and his imaginative beagle Snoopy.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and reservations are welcome. For more information, call 732.341.7775.

Check out their site and E_Mail them if your interested in performing.

NJCoast is also working with NJ Rides for Aids which holds an annual 250 mile bike (peddle bikes that is) ride from High Point to Cape May. This years run will be held the weekend of October 3rd, 2003. Much more information is available at their website.

In closing, I guess I should also mention that Bobby Strange and Dale Kamen were wed since out last newsletter.

No not to each other! Dale married her former band mate, Jeff Lakata and Bobby married Joyce Kelly. The entire staff at NJCoast offers out best wishes to both couples.
