It may have been a couple of months ago, but back on October 20, the Stone Pony was all ablaze the night of the 12th Annual Asbury Music Awards. Don Dazzo donned his ruffled shirt and kept the night riding along with jokes and intros. Terry Little opened the night with some bodacious rock and roll followed by some cool stylings by Rick Barry.

Rick's fedora gave him some unstoppable cheering after he finished and even better was the fact that he racked up the first award for the evening, Top Male Solo. When we asked how the win would change his career, he said with a chuckle continued on page 6

Nothing Average About Jody and Her Joes

Imagine this… it's Saturday night at the rockin' Starland Ballroom in Sayreville. Two boys under the age of 10 stand poised in matching Ts and hand-held tambourines waiting for their cue to join the band. "Wait a minute! There's something wrong with this picture! One whose passion includes sharing the joy of music with those eager to learn, to dream, and to grow! This is the scene I came upon when waiting for Jody Joseph

It was Thursday night October 28 and I didn’t know what a night I was in for at The Saint! VH1 presented Glenn Tilbrook & The Fluffers and Scott Stamper of The Saint booked some great local talent from NJ & NYC to prime the crowd at the filled-to-capacity event. A good time was had by all. Each performance was top-notch and the crowd was smiling and dancing and singing along.

Rick Barry Opening for Glenn Tilbrook

NJCoast local, Rick Barry, from Brick, has been playing in the area for the past four years, but was already dubbed a “local legend” in The Star Ledger this week. When asked about this, Rick modestly replies that he doesn’t think that he is old enough for legend status, but appreciates the sentiment. Having seen him open up for Glen Tilbrook to the packed house, I was impressed with his performance and surprised to learn that he is only 22 years old.. He has a soulful voice and a unique sound, one he likes to call “alterna-folk.” He says that despite some nervous energy before the show, he was really happy with the performance and crowd response. Rick had just returned from a trip to Jamaica where he spent a lot of time chillin’ with the locals, jamming to Bob Marley and Peter Tosh tunes while his girlfriend, Kate, danced in continued page 7
