Montclair Fund For Women, which promotes economic empowerment for women and girls, through community partnership. Performers will include Mistress of Ceremonies Jan Loe, with Eileen Kearny on bass, singer/ songwriters Jan Corliss and Lynn Rosenthal, and a promising group of (very) young ladies, the Spiffies. Future shows will feature NY acoustic blues master, Bennett Harris (April 3rd), Montclair's folk favorite, Dave Murphy (May 1st), and Paterson's own bluesman extraordinaire, Son Lewis (June 5th). On July 3rd, the first Gallery 214 Open Mic Challenge will provide area talent with an opportunity to compete for a percentage of the door - to be awarded, based on a poll of the house. Yeah, "Art ain't a competition." But it'll be nice for one of these good folks to get paid. Performers wishing to be considered for future projects, may send a CD and "onesheet" to Jan Loe c/o P.B. James, PO Box 1245, Bloomfield, NJ 07003. Those wishing further information or to be added to our email list, may call the gallery at 973-744-1940 or email p.b.james@att.net.
