Moving from the Wonder Bar’s coolly in-your-face piano bar stage behind the main bar over to the larger main stage, we were treated to an acoustic set trio-style from Dave Eric and Stigmatic.

With acoustic guitar and backing on congas, Eric ran through a gamut of new material from downright moody to jump-up and shake punchy stuff that he was debuting at a Saint show later that week; dug the Bongos’ cover "Something to this life," then it was back to the intimate piano-bar stage for a Jack Stock moment

This newly Eatontown-based solo artist has been jamming under a more local spotlight lately; Stock almost immediately charms you and pulls you in, as on "Booboo, it’s over," with Booboo’s call and response ‘yeahs’ chorus and spritely guitar funk. Or the man and his guitar are off and running with the tense, strutting funk of "Motel in Jersey" with its Bonnie and Clyde meet Sugarland Express lyrical theme that tells the tale of a wanted man and lusty woman. continued page 5
