Joe Canzano was wandering around West Jersey (That’s West Jersey by Red Bank standards) picking mushrooms one day and stumbled across an interesting place - Cleo's Cafe -

It's a small place in Highland Park, on the main street, coffee and desserts, open mic for music twice a month, open mic for poetry twice a month. They've got a sound system--the air conditioning could be better. The vibe is not bad. Interesting artwork. There's also an outdoor courtyard. More complete story to follow

Dan, of Jersey Shows, who also holds All Ages shows at clubs such as Chubby's, The Saint, and The Internet Cafe says, "I believe show promoters expect the same amount of work and effort from the performers that they provide for the bands at the shows. I try to discourage putting numbers on what I expect."

How does a band get to play? They are to do nothing more than ask. All types of bands are booked from all over New Jersey, and beyond. "Having been doing this for five years now, I get a good sense of which bands put in the effort, and the ones who don't," Dan explains.
