The highlights of this experience are too numerous to list. I only wish every artist with a dream and a talent the same luck we had in stumbling upon this gig. As some of my readers know, I am passionate about efforts that bring forth the good of a community. To have begun a camaraderie with local merchants, to have met other StreetLife performers eager to share their experience, and to have been rewarded with a paycheck at night’s end speaks volumes about the respect this close-knit town has for its community.
I invite anyone who hasn’t visited Red Bank to join us. The StreetLife Series continues through August 28th, every Saturday from 7-10pm. Just in case I’ve piqued your curiosity about the fabulous "Martin Blondes," Patti and I will play again on August 21st in front of the Pepper Shack on White Street. from page 11 many must be sold. Bands are only expected to do the best they can. The typical price per ticket ranges from $7-$10, with the occasional higher price, depending on the venue and show.
When arriving at a show, it is always important to know at least the estimated time you'll hit the stage, and how long your set will be. Dan gives each group about 30 minutes to play, and about 15 minutes for set up and breakdown, although times may fluctuate, depending on the show, band, or venue.
An additional piece of advice: local bands should always try to spread the word, advertise, and pump up the excitement, to new markets to get as many people as possible to watch them perform.
So whether you're an established local band or looking to get your first gig, Dan's All Ages shows at Chubby's are a great way to both debut and play.
