Although a relatively young establishment, the Indigo Coffeehouse in Matawan has certainly made a name for itself. Newly acquired owners Sheli Aarden, and partner Rob Lowther have big plans for the venue; featuring special events and a heavier focus on the menu. The same coffee we all know and love will be there, but the food menu will be expanded showcasing: a healthy alternative to lunch, low carb options, a kid's menu, and even a breakfast menu for the newly extended hours (7-11 Thursday through Monday, 7-10 Tuesday and Wednesday) continued page 12

I first met Jon Caspi in a coffeehouse; I didn’t even realize he was the “entertainment.” He seemed like a real hometown kind of guy that was just hanging out having a latte on a Saturday night. I knew absolutely nothing about him or his music. When he began the first song I was mesmerized. I wondered why I had not been fortunate to hear him before. It was truly serendipity, as once the CD This Town was in my car, I knew the album backward and forward in a week!

out at McDonagh's Pub every month in Keyport. Each time they play, the crowd is bigger and there's more going on. I can attest to this having seen him in coffeehouses, small bars (KatManDu in Trenton), and larger venues (Wonder Bar and Stone Pony in Asbury). An amazingly
versatile performer, he always has a few surprises up his sleeve. One minute he’s singing “Waiting,” the next he’s doing the kid song “Spin Spin Spin” (and man does that go over big with the adult crowd). Continued on page 5
