Beyond the Beach The Sandy Hook Lighthouse

Before you adventurers take your tour, sit down in the theater adjacent to the tower and watch a short film about the lighthouse's history. You can also browse in the gift shop while you are waiting to climb, or after you make it down the dizzying spiral staircase (Yes, it is circular inside despite the octagon-shaped tower you see outside). All ages are welcome to take the trip up the stairs. Afterward, take a walk around the surrounding property and see the different buildings our army used when defending this fort from 1895 to 1974. of Riding My Scooter fills the air. Playing out for the first time tonight, the local group brings out the best of it’s members J. Pat, Tommy Anton, Kasia Kowalska, and Brian Amsterdam. All of the members are accomplished musicians from wonderfully diverse backgrounds. It seems the only thing rivaling them for the stage is the sunset itself.

Starting the set with “All Across The Cities” the fusion of Celtic folk and Jersey style is heard loud and clear. Fiddle is played by Kowalska beside the acoustic blending by J. Pat and Amsterdam. Bringing this all together seamlessly was the rhythmic drumming of Anton.
