Fireworks Draw Scores

from page 3 out (me and my boyfriend will always remember our kiss). Our mental fireworks still going on from a magical night, we headed into a store to see some wild and crazy clothes and trinkets. Many merchants kept their doors open late so the post-party crowd could continue to eat, drink, and shop merry. Every bar had a line to get in. I’m not sure a Jersey native like Bon Jovi would have been able to cut the lines of this wild crowd that night. The last bar we hit was McCullough’s for some Jack, Sam Adams Summertime Ale, and zinfandel. We were shooting for our drinks to be red, white, and blue in honor of the flag. I’d say we came close. Ha ha! Back at the Internet Cafe, the crowd was getting wild! The Courtyard nabbed many passerby on their way to their parking spots that wanted to wait it out before getting out of town. The party was raving, with gals even dancing on the fire escape!! Some fans earlier in the day left their coolers and backpacks full of beer near the Courtyard stage. At this point, abandoned for the rest of the night means time to share the proceeds. Thus the audience that hung around for Lisa Isnetto, who belts it out as good as Alanis, all got free sidecar “treats” with their iced coffees and lattes! My boyfriend and I hiked all the way back to NJCoast offices. It was probably one of the most fun hikes to my car ever. The sausage cart in front of Riverside Gardens was still open at 10:30pm. The park looked like a wreck, proving a good time was had by all.

The publisher of NJCoast, Joe C., may have gotten a mint parking spot at 2PM, but he was routed out of Red Bank to the far reaches of Fair Haven and beyond when cops directed drivers out of the area. Seems even on foot, I beat him back by at least 45 minutes, even with a few stops for a romantic kiss from my man on the metal bridge over the rowboat area, the sounds of this night of summer fun still playing in our ears and hearts. by Carole_Brandi

SICA's Summer Outdoor Series

from page 2 of funk, rock, blues, and jazz into a wonderful medley of sound. It was an impressive show, especially for such young performers. The music lured in locals walking by and won approval from firemen driving by, while continually pleasing the all-ages crowd. SICA will continue its Summer Outdoor Series every Saturday night, with the music beginning at 5pm and ending at dark. Both carnivores and vegetarians will be taken care of at SICA’s barbeque, and indoor seating is available in their café. SICA is located at 20 Third Avenue, in downtown Long Branch. For more information and a full event listing, visit their website at www.sica.org. Augmented’s website, including a calendar and song downloads, is at www.augmentedband.com. All of the performers can be found on myspace.com by Cori

Beyond the Beach Sandy Hook Lighthouse
|
|
from page 4 The Seagull's Nest, which is about a half a mile from the lighthouse, offers casual outdoor dining with a fun atmosphere and varied menu. Adults will love the rock and pop music on the speakers, as well as the sports on the restaurant's 4 TVs. Kids will love to see the mustard and ketchup served in bright yellow sand pails. And if you just want to commune with nature from your vista, you can see the ocean waves and the spectacular sunset view simutaneously. Some nights you can catch live local acts.
